April 19, 2004
Well after 12 days on the market, we had a contract on our house. After a counter offer we had an accepted contact with anticipated closing date on/before May 19th.
Our first home, Adrianna's only home, a place that holds such fond memories will be left behind to explore a new stage in our life.
For almost a year now this has been in the planning. We have worked a perfect timeline, working on the house to do various home imporovements, keeping our credit card debt down to $0, waiting on the termination of the lease on a vehicle way too expensive for our 1 1/2 income budget (pre-Adrianna purchase) and now the sale of our home. We are packing our home up into a large moving van sending it out west in hopes of finding "gold" so to speak.
DH has a job lined up. We will do some major apartment hunting the first few day of arriving and I will be entering the full time working world once again. Going from my part time job at 28 hours a week to 40 hours a week won't be too much of a leap but scary.
Has anyone have any advice for a long haul move like this? I am working on bids for moving companies. We are going to slowly start packing our house into boxes and plastic storage containers. In my mind it will take forever to pack 7 years of living here.
My case of major nerves has set in already.
I barely slept a wink last night tossing and turning on the couch so DH could rest peacefully. I am a worry wart by nature so this will be a grueling next 4-6 weeks.
*Adrianna updates*
Adrianna is turning into a social butterfly.
She cannot walk past anyone without smiling and say "hiiii!" It is so cute!
We are continuing to struggle with her speech and learning new words. We have a speech evaluation scheduled for June 10th but it looks like we will be moving before that so I am going to have to get on the ball when we get settled in our new home.
No progress on potty training. Actually I think we have regressed back in time. Adrianna has lost intrest in frequent trips to the "big girl potty." I don't know if it the nice weather and she is always wanting to play outside but we are working on it. She loves her Cindrella pull ups with big girl cotton underwear over top.
I am happy to report Adrianna has gained 2lbs since her 2 year well check according to our home scales. She is such an active 2 year old I know every calorie she puts in her mouth is burnt off.
**A follow up to my last entry**
When do you know you are giving in too much to your toddler? Or giving her too much?
spoiling? Is there such a thing? What is your opinion?
Happy Spring!
