March 5, 2004
Today, March 5, 2002 at 9:43 a.m. Adrianna was introduced into this world.
Her stats compared are:
March 5, 2002
6 lb.s 4 ounces
19 inches
head full of dark brown hair
March 5, 2004
26 lbs
36 inches
24 month - 2t clothing
size 5 diaper
size 7 shoe
head full of light brown hair with curls
We had a small family party the weekend before Adrianna's birthday. She was showered with many great gifts, more than she could ever need. To just list a few, we got her a tricycle, play kiddy jewelry, and a Wiggles t-shirt. Mamaw and Papaw got her a keyboard with microphone, a My first Leap Pad, a pretty pale green Easter dress and a music CD. Grandma & Grandpa got her some awesome Dora Pj's, new purple leather Minnie & Mickey tennis shoes that have the lights on the bottom (the only shoes she has worn for the past few weeks), a new ballerina comforter, sheet set and rug for her room. Her cousins, DJ, Drew and Bella got her some really practical gifts. She got a new toothbrush, cool kids toothpaste, new socks, Wiggles Book and Bunny Book. Uncle Rick and Aunt Myndie got her a cool summer outfit with red flip flop shoes and a new doll she can pull around in it's own red wagon. Cousins, Alex, Ethan and Kristen got her a new summer outfit and a new book (which Alex can read to her.) Grandma Charlene got Adrianna a new Barbie doll and a duckie purse with books inside it. Papaw Bob and Debi sent money which she used to buy another Wiggles doll, Jeff.
Our toy room is ready for another clean sweep to get rid of some more toys.
I am happy to report that Adrianna has certainly turned the corner so to speak on her speech. She is continuing to surprise us with new words like back-pack, Bella, truck, car, yes, pease, tank you and many more. She can still be very stubborn when you ask her to repeat something. I feel she is making great strides. YEAH Adrianna!
On Friday March 5th, Rob and I took Adrianna to McDonalds indoor playland for the first time. I was so nervous to let her go in the tunnels alone so the trooper that I am, I went with her. Five times through the twisting tunnels, no air conditioning and I let the reins go. My little girl was ready for Mommy to give her some space so I did. Perched at the bottom of the slide, I talked to Adrianna and the other little boy while they wondered around. She did so well, I was amazed! My baby is growing up! Sniffle, sniffle!
Adrianna played until her heart was content! She was so tired I don't think she moved the entire night after I put her in bed.
Knock on wood....For all the parents whom are entering the terrible two's, THERE IS HOPE AND A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.
I think we are doing much better. We still have a few tantrums daily but I have learned something very invaluable ~choose your battles wisely with a toddler~
It has made things much easier.
With that I will be off.....
