Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 20, 2004

First of all I would like to apologize for my lack of entries. I won't come up with some lame excuse other than I just have not had anything to write about.

What is going on in Adrianna's life?
Adrianna just had her 6 month recheck for her tubes. Both tubes were in perfect place and clean as a whistle. She had a second hearing exam and she passed with flying colors. We have been very lucky since the tubes to have only had one ear infection. Knock on wood, we have not had really any major illness lately. We battled a minor stomach virus right before Christmas but other than that Adrianna has been really healthy.
We have now found the hitting phase. Adrianna hits in anger now. I am working so hard with her to find a solution to her anger problem. I feel she does this because she has problems expressing herself. Ok, your thinking what 21 month old doesn't have this problem right? Well Adrianna is taking her own sweet time in developing her speech. I don't want to say she has a delay because I am not a professional but she still sticks to her core words. Mamaw, Dada, cheese, juice, NO, shoes, and way too many animal sounds to list. She will also say her cousin's names (DJ and Drew) but only a mother could understand her. All in all I am going to address the speech issue at her 2 year well check appointment in March.
I think Adrianna is getting ready to begin potty training. All of a sudden she will not keep a dirty diaper on. This is very unusual because before we had to chase her down to change a poopy one. We have been sitting her on the "big girl potty" for a few months right before she gets into the bathtub so she is really familiar with it.
Tonight while I was going to the restroom she took her diaper off, sat on the training potty and did her thing. I did not realize there was actually pee in the potty until she was playing in it. YUCK!
So we are on the diaper-less road and hoping for no major potholes.

Adrianna is now basically eating the same food as Mommy & Daddy. For the longest time I would make her a seperate meal. I was always afraid some of our Mexican meals would upset her tummy. I was wrong! She will eat tacos, refried beans, salsa and even loves chili. Granted my sitter may not like to changer her diaper the next day but I feel she is getting a more nutritional meal this way.

March 5, 2004 Adrianna will be 2 years old. Yes, I have began planning her party. We are going with a Wiggles theme.
I am going to a family friend's house Friday to take some Dorothy the Dinosaur photos. I can't wait to watch Adrianna blow out her candles this year. I can't believe she will be two years old. It seems like it was just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital.

Welcome to all the new diary writers. I have noticed quite a few new diaries on all the iParenting sites. Way to go Tanya!
I have sent in a recent photo of Adrianna and I at Christmas that will be posted to the index page.

I hate to cut this short but my day tomorrow will start at 5:00 am due to a training class at work. I hope I can make it! After working these 6 hour days for so long a 9 hour day will probably make me drag!

Have a great week!
