Introduction

November 14th, 2003.

Waiting for Inspiration.

I sit here, waiting for inspiration,
waiting as if it will come,
if I am quiet
and patient.

Call me lazy, but I like
it best
when I just wait
wait for the words to find me.
Seek me out, and I just
channel
them to paper
or keyboard.
Or maybe napkin.

I look around
and I think, this,
this is good enough,
there's plenty to inspire
here.

There's that sweet girl
smiling
and laughing
giggling
"silly me!"

The first snowfall;
frost on rebirthing leaves;
cats who smell like outside;
a garden, tucked in
and asleep for the season.

I don't find much inspiration
within myself
yet, there's now no denying
my inspired state
as evident by body,
swollen and full
of child
(and much cheese).

So, let me rewrite
restate
my first thoughts.
I've found inspiration,
I'm inspired.
Now I sit here, waiting for the words,
waiting because I know they'll come
if I'm quiet
if I'm patient.

I hope you can wait
too.
