The Count Down Begins

July 16, 2007

The count down has begun. This time next week I will be recovering from my surgery. I have tried to be productive. I made a list of everything I wanted to get done and what days to do it. Then I realized no sooner do I have it done (like cleaning our den) that the girls have come behind me and destroyed it. I have been busy making Abbey dresses. She has been doing reenacting with my dad and sister and she was in need of some dresses. She had one I made her which wasn't very good but it was my first try and she had one we bought which I hated the tie back on it so I got some fabric I like and made her a blue dress with a cute apron and a white and green skirt. So I was holed up for a week at the sewing machine. When I wasn't sewing I was babysitting a friend of Abbey's. Tomorrow is my pre-op date and I am doing Abbey's school clothes shopping. I am finished with the school supplies except the stuff for the class like paper towels and whatever else the teacher will want. My mom is aggravating me. She was supposed to bring my sister down today so she could go with me tomorrow to watch the girls during my appointment. But she can't/won't come down. Heather is trying to find another ride. I hate it that if her stepson needs anything she is right there. When she promises to do anything for me she calls and cancels. On the upside I did go shopping for cute pajamas to wear while in the hospital. I usually sleep in a very attractive tee shirt and either boxers or sweatpants depending on the hot flashes. So I wanted something that would make me feel good post surgery. It was kind of hard to find something that wasn't a pale color. I am afraid of drainage or leaking ruing the pajamas. So I found a black and Caribbean blue set that is so adorable. I am making myself not start packing now. Mike bought me an MP3 player and I have loved it. I am such a hold out on technology. But I finally caved in because I knew I would want something to listen to during my hospital stay.
