Savannah's 6mth appt

August 11, 2006

First of all, my poor baby got shots, ouch I hate those!!!! Developmentally, she is doing awesome! At 6mths my handout said baby may be ready to.. turn twords sounds(yes) begin to say "dada" or "baba" (says, mmmma mmma) sit with support(sits on her own) pass toy from hand to hand(yes) and begin to feed him/herself(yes, we just did cheerios the last few days) plus she is crawling(slowly still), pulling up, no teeth, eating solids, eating some *pieces* too, babbling a ton(her good mood scream!) and the stranger anxiety was actually a good thing(milestone) according to the doc. On the weight issue, she is falling behind even more. 4mth she was 12.10lbs(20%) and 25in(48%)....she's now(at 6 1/2mths) 13.12lbs(7%..yikes) and 26in(49%). She wants me to get in with the gastro doc asap(our appt is the 22nd) and then contact her after.....she said this is not good, it's deff something in her GI track, either the relux or not absorbing nutrients. I am to push any food I can, nursing, solids(do 3 meals a day for sure, as much as she'll eat) and nurse, nurse, nurse. She's so tiny! I thought for sure she'd gotten to 14lbs, maybe even almost 15lbs, she's been actually eating like a horse lately, I was actually shocked she was still in the 13's. We increased her Zantac again, same dose for Prevacid. Anyways that is our news, good on some parts, bad on others! HUGS here's a pic of her sitting! http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...sittingbig.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...ittinggirl.jpg To compare her percentiles(why I am a little more nervous and don't believe she is just *petite* is that she has been slipping for a few months now. 2mths she was 48%, 4mths 30%, 4 1/2mths 20% and now 6mths 7%.....so she has been slipping down at a very consistant pace. __________________
