gastro appt..waste of time!!!

June 21, 2006

I HATE when I walk into a doctors office and the first words out of their mouths are *so why are you here*???? It just goes down hill from there! This guy wasn't the best. He thinks Savannah is getting along just fine and I should continue on her meds, but try every 3mths or so to stop them. If she does fine then great, if not restart meds again and try a few months later. I told him Carson's history(with the hiatal hernia) and he didn't seem worried in the least. I asked if they are hereditary, because Savannah is way worse then Carson ever was with reflux...*no*. Okay....he said her Upper GI was fine, so no further testing needed(even though Carson's hernia was never seen on the Upper GI). I just feel a bit pushed to the side on this one. Between age 1-2 she should start to outgrow it, but if not to bring her back. so I guess I just wait it out. I know she has a 50/50 chance of outgrowing it, but I just have a bad feelign since we've been through this already with her brother. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to her Ped and tell her the gastro doc didn't seem concerned as her and I did. So I guess I just continue paying $100 a month for her meds :( Well, Carson's b-day party is Sunday, so I have been running around trying to get things ready. He ordered a Nemo cake, the guests will eat that and I will make Carson a special allergy-free cupcake to eat. It's at the railroad museum so the kids will have fun running around on the trains. I signed him up for swim lessons and his first class was last night, what a mess!! he cried when his brother got to go to lessons, so I sign him up and he cries all through the class, never getting in once. Then once the class ended, he cried again!!! I'm going to make him go anyways, pill!!! Daddy will be home to help tomorrow, maybe he can coax him in. On a good note, we're finally getting out back yard done!! We had to get a loan to pay for it, our HOA is very strict and we have to have rock, sod and sprinklers put in within a year of purchase, our year is up this month! But we should have our money by next week and hopefully they can start on out yard soon after. It will be soooooo nice to have grass instead of weeds and mud! We're putting in a playground area too, pea gravel then a climber/swing set and a trampoline. We have 12 kids in our cul-de-sac and they are all usually in our yard, it will be nice once it actually looks nice too!! Think that's it....HUGS :)
