Savannah's Upper GI
June 13, 2006
Savannah had her Upper GI this morning. I just have to say, I HATE setting an alarm clock, seriously! I had to get up at 5:30am to get ready to leave by 6:30am.....AND I had to take all the kids with me. But it went well, she drank some of the barium and we watched it on the video monitor. Then over about 10 min they took about 15 diff pictures of her GI track. Within 2 min we could see her refluxing. He looked and looked for a hiatal hernia, but said he never saw one(my 2 yr old had one that caused his reflux, I repeat that alot, sorry). So I will meet with the gastro doc next Wed to go over the results. Carson's hernia was never found during this test, so I will discuss that with the doc(if we need further testing). I'm pushing it because like I was told when Carson was on reflux meds for 2 years, there are no long term tests on how these meds effect young children, so if you can get off them that's a good thing. So if she can be corrected by surgery(like Carson) and get off all the meds, I think it's worth looking into. So I guess I will know more next week. But glad we got the test done today.
On a lighter note, Sidney is loving her tap/ballet/jazz class. I wish she would have done this a couple years ago! I guess we'll see how she does with this beginer class and if she continues to like it, get her into a studio class. There are only 4 little girls in her class, and she is so tall she stands out. Oh, we also heard back form t-ball, Sidney was on the waiting list because I missed registration again....but she starts this Sat!!! I bet she does really well at t-ball, then next year soft ball, she has a good arm and is really good at bat. It will be hot watching those games, but I bet she has a blast!!! I need to get her some new tennis shoes and a glove now, oy'!!!!
I still only have Jake and Carson in swim lessons, I missed all the t-ball sign-ups for the boys(shoooot). I asked some of the moms around here, I guess you have to get them signed up by like January to get on a team, geeez! Maybe Jake can play tag football this fall, I better look into signing up now though!
Well, we're off to funeral tomorrow. Brett's moms sister passed away yesterday. I never have met anyoen form his side of the family other then mom, dad, brother and sister....so I am looking forward to meeting more of them tomorrow. We have to drive 4 hours to get there, then turn around a drive back home, that will be hard, but not like this happens everyday.
I'm pooped, I am going to go sit and veg for a few minutes before C&S wake up from naps.....HUGS :)![]() | ![]() |
