A December Birthday...
December 3, 2006
Princess was born on 12/12/00 at 12:38am. I cannot beleive it's been six years since that tiny left was created from my husband and I and brought to life our princess. I cherish her birthdays and she know's she's special and the one and only.
Princess loves to cook, shop, and play. I love to allow her to play and use her imagination. We have an excellent child.
She is doing great in kindergarten, is very loving and caring towards other people, is a very easy child to parent.
Princess loves to sleep, in the morning she always tries to grasp that last wink. Just like her mother. She still sleeps curled up with her but in the air. She began sleeping like that as soon as she learned how to roll on to her belly when she was put to bed at night. I still remember those very first moments. These memories are with me all the time.
Princess' first birthday - I was so happy. She was 1, I over did it. I bought a picture camera and took so many pictures. I was so thrilled when she turned one, yet saddened. I think we had a winnie the pooh or something Ice Cream cake. She was so bald.
Princess' second birthday was snarled by a nasty ice storm.
We didn't get have a party for her and she was changing daycares so she didn't have a daycare party either. Guess what, she survived. We had a Monster's Inc. birthday cake for her, at this point she was in love with Boo. She was finally getting hair.
Princess' third birthday was a chuck e cheese party with a lilo and stitch cake. She was so cute and cuddly then. She had a birthday party at her daycare, which she had changed again that year. She got in to this awsome preschool and it was the icing on the cake. She met some great little friends. We were also suffering from the death of my mother. This is/was a difficult time for me.
Princess' fourth birthday was another chuck e cheese party.
We had a disney princess theme cake that year. My most memorable moment from her birthday party was when Princess ran from Chuck E Cheese and hid under a table during her birthday party. It was pretty funny. I was trying to coax her out, ofcourse it didn't work.
Princess' fifth birthday was at our house. It's a tiny house. We only invited 3 kids. They had a good party with a cinderella theme, the cake was cinderella and the frosting was so bitter that it ruined the cake.. Princess had developed several friendships and it's amazing to watch her interact with other children. It's so special.
This year princess will be six. We will be having a cinderella cake. She is going to have her picture on the cake. I will take lots of pictures. I remember one year taking about 190 pictures of just her birthday party.
Some random thoughts on having a six year old. One is that if I don't have another Child I'm fine with it. I had my daughter on the first try and I"m content with that. Besides she's a very good child. She listens, is obeident, and is scared of everything.
I was in agony to have a child with a december birthday. This created an extra year gap in childcare, so she spent 6 years in daycare before attending kindergarten. I decided to hold her back when she was 2, so this paved the way for a smooth transition into Kindergarten. There are many children whose birthdays fall after the cut off date for starting kindergarten.
I decided to keep Princess in private school for kindergarten.
It's not really a scrafice because she's already reading at a second grade level and is very observant. I love her more and more each day.
I have noticed that quite a few people we know have children who are born in Nov/Dec/Jan time frame. The more people I meet the more kids I find out that have birthday's before christmas.
When princess was born I had to make a promise that princess would always have a birthday and not a christmas/birthday.
I love celebrating birthdays. We usually celebrate for several days, instead of just one.
Another thing I"d like to point out is that I could have never imagined how my life would change in April of 2000 when I found out I was pregnant. Then in July when I found out we were having a daughter. She was already named long before we found out her gender. We had our boys name and girls name.
The birthday cycle, kicks off in November, with my now deceased birth in law and living sister in law who were born on the same day. Then my husbands birthday, followed by my nephew, then princess, then her great grandmother, and her cousin. I really thinkg having a december birthday before christmas is easier since there is room to get things and build upon what she gets. However, I don't think having a birthday right after the new year like her cousin is too great. Most people are tired out and have no idea what to get a child whose born right after.
Until Next Time,,,,
