Thursday Night...

June 8, 2006

I feel like a new kid. I'm so bored right now. Right now, I'm bored. I went to my dr last thursday for a check up on my Mirena IUD. I had the IUD inserted as a form of birthcontrol. I had it inserted May 2, 2006. I had horrible bleeding every day. I figure I'd give it until June 1st to see if it got better or worse. Well, I've had a gastric bypass and since Mirena was installed I haven't lost any weight, it's just yo-yoing up and down between 190 and 188. I have been in the 190's/80s for to many weeks. I will write a gastric bypass post another day. So I go in June 1st, I tell the dr I hate the mirena, I have choronic back pain and this made it so much worse, plus I was bleeding heavily and severe pelvic pain. My hair started falling out and I hated bleeding for 34 days straight. These were not spots. Back to my appointment, I went June 1st, they couldn't locate the IUD. I had to have an Ultra Sound to see if they could find it. They couldn't find it and the ultra sound showed it wedged deeply inside my uturus. It was in the wrong spot and the strings were intertwined. So, I returned June 6th, the darn thing was so twisted. The dr tried three different ways to get it out. No go, it was jammed in me. I went June 1st, June 6th and I left both visits with the iud still in there. I requested it to be removed because of bleeding problems. The chronic bleeding was leaving me with low iron. With a gastric bypass having low iorn is bad. The IUD was supposed to stop my periods which would help prevent low iron. This didn't happen. So wednesday morning I'm back at the ob's office. We had a strile room set up and they began this process removal a different way. THere were three attempts to remove the IUD. I had local anesthisa, in the vaginal area, yuck. The dr got a broken string on the second try. He ask if he could try one more time, it was intense, it finally broke free and came out. I now have serious side pain, from the removal. I also feel like I have a flu a bit. They gave me antibiotics to prevent infection. After attempt #8 the dr said we'd have to consider surgical removeal of the IUD. Heck no. I prayed so hard. I told him if it hurts I can deal, I just don't want anesthisa in my body. If I see stirrups and a white cloth it will be too soon. I'm curious if they are going to bill me 3 copayemtns since I had to return 3 times. I haven't decided if I hate the dr yet. THis is how I am as a person. Very moody and dramatic. Hopefully the next time I see him he will be at lowe's food getting chicken or something and not checking my cervix ever again. Now, he recommened some nuva ring thing, I totally have no interest. I'm going hormone free. The dr did say depo provera injections are not being used anymore becasue of the side effects. I wanted to write this and let you know why I have so much free time these days. I am returning to work tomorrow and i'll be in for a beating since I've been out and the work builds up. Everyday. I'll write about my job some day too. I'm very eager to write.
