4/13/07 - More Drama!

April 13, 2007

Greetings readers!

I swear, this has been one of THE most drama-filled months..........and we're only halfway through the month!!!  Ack!

This week's fun adventure was that Aidan got strep throat - after ONE WEEK of preschool.  ONE WEEK!!!!  He started to feel bad on Sunday and by Sunday night he was burning up with fever.  I took him to the doctor on Monday and lo and behold, he had strep.  I started him on antibiotics Monday evening, but he was still not showing drastic improvement until yesterday.  So, due to being sick, he missed his entire 2nd week of preschool <sigh>.  When Steve drops him off on Monday, it will have been 10 days since he was there last - NOT GOOD.  I'm afraid we'll find ourselves back at square 1.

I can't even tell you how much of a bummer this is - especially since I'd taken off a half day of work on both Monday and Wednesday to help "transition" him into preschool another week.  I have a half day scheduled on Monday but then I'm just about out of time off.  My husband doesn't have any time off available either and if he takes off without permission, he'll lose his job.

All in all, it's a big ball of stress!

In the midst of all of this, I'm totally second-guessing myself.  Should I have waited until Steve was secure in a new job before putting him in daycare?  Should I have saved up like 120 hours of time off before even attempting this?  I don't know.  I'm just massively discouraged.

Sorry to end this entry on such a bummer note........it's just that kinda month!

Better news next time, I hope!
