Finally an update....July 2007... what been happening here these last few months
July 19, 2007
Gosh, I can't believe it has been so long since I have written over here. ![]()
Honestly I think I did make it here and write a quick, tid bit of information
a while back, but something didn't go right and the entry never got posted.
Well, today I have my wits about me, which I didn't have last week when I wrote
an entry and it was gone
, and I'am first writing this in Word and then will copy and paste it in the
iP diary write site, that way if something goes wrong again I will be able to
try and try again without loosing the whole thing
like many times before. The thing is I don't always remember to do this. ![]()
Where do I start? I know it has been a couple months since there has been an entry, I think Asher's 4th Birthday is the last entry, so a little has happened since then.
Well, since Asher's b-day in April, we have had a 16th Birthday in our house.
My oldest son Joshua(whom I also write a dairy for in Teenagers Today) turned the big 16 on May 14th. I still find it hard to believe I have a 16
year old, not many other people can believe it either, but I guess that is a very
good compliment. Since April the end of the school year came and went, we had
a couple of Academic Awards ceremonies to attend and a PreSchool Program/Granduation
to attend. We did not have a Preschool Graduate(another year for that), but the
younger children had a little musical performance for us.
As far as the Academic Awards ceremonies go, we had one for Tyler(whom I also write a diary for, in PreTeenagers Today) for the whole school year(1st 3, 9weeks) accomplishments, then the very next
day there was one at school for the current 9wks, last 9wks they were just finishing
up. Tyler got an award for his high EOG scores
, and also got an award for Perfect Attendance.
The second Academic Awards Ceremony we attended was for my daughter Brianna,
being in 3rd grade this year adds more recognized honors, so this was her first
year of getting to be a part of the ceremony. Brianna got an award for being on
Honor Roll/ Principals list all 4 grading periods of the school year
, and she also got an award for Perfect Attendance for the entire year. I have
to say though, she didn't get the recognition she should have on the Perfect Attendance,
because the office messed up and didn't have it listed, so there was no public
regonition or a walk across the stage for that award, they just have it to her
the next day in class after I called the school and made the aware of it.
Honestly I was very upset that Brianna had been missed for the Perfect Attendance
Award.
For me as a parent that award is due to me as much as it is to her, it is a pride thing too
. After all I'm the one that wakes them every morning and gets them out the door
with lunches in hand, on-time every morning or gets them in the car and to the
school on-time every morning of the school year. I wanted to see my daughter walk
up on that stage with the other few children that got the award. But, it just
didn't happen (if only her teacher had checked into like she told me she had)
and at least the error was corrected and Brianna did get her award, just not when
she should have.
As far as Joshua goes, we still do not know the outcome of his grades for his
Sophomore year
. For one reason or another we have not gotten his grades in the mail. I have tried to call a time or two and find out the reason we have not received
it, but as it was today, no one I would need to talk to is in the office when
I called. I have a feeling the reason we have not gotten it might be due to a
book the claim Joshua did not turn in, but I would not think that should be the
reason since last year we dealt with the same issue, but still got the report
card. Maybe one day I will finally get to talk to whomever it is I need to to
find out the answer. I m pretty sure Joshua passed all his classes, I did get
some contact from his Teachers as they are supposed to do, just not as much as
they are supposed to, but I did know pretty much how Joshua was doing at the end
and how exams went. But, I would still like to know the final grades for sure.
Other than work for my husband and myself,
baseball for the 3 older kids and preschool for Asher, there hasn't been too
much going on.
However the last week of June I did get to leave my family for a week and go on a Mission Trip with the Youth group of our Church. Just a few weeks before the were leaving I finally found out what the Mission trip that I had been applying contributions to was. I guess I had just been so busy filing in for the Financial Administrator and also doing my job, that I hadn't paid attention to the details of the trip. Once I did find out that the were going to be going to help rebuild homes from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, I just had to go. I did go and somethings changed, but I will save that for my next entry and I promise it won't be long before I write about it. Lord Willing that is!
Until Next Time........
God bless,
Bridgett and crew
