Happy 4th Birthday Asher!!!!

April 21, 2007

Today is my baby boy's 4th Birthday!, where has the time gone. It seems like I was just writting about him turning 3 and now he is 4. Today was not a day of much celebration. Asher woke us at a little after 6am this morning, and did not even go to sleep until about 2 am this morning. Although I guess he had had plenty of sleep since he spent most of the day before sleeping due to being sick.

Asher seems to be having trouble accepting the fact that he is now 4 and no longer 3 and a half. Everytime I have told him he is 4 today he has told me no he is not. Frist thing this morning after he woke us up, I got out of bed and scooped him up and huged him snuggly and said Happy Birthday Asher you are 4 now. He gruffy replied no I'm not, leave me alone. When his oldest brother came down stairs after waking this mornng, I quickly reminded him it was Asher's birthday and Joshua too went over to him and said Happy Birthday. Asher was quick to tell him to leave him alone, no it isn't.

Asher has been a pretty sick little boy this week. Last weekend he started with what seemed to be his usual allergy/asthma issues. We started full=force with the extra Pulmacort and his allergy medicine. Asher seemed to be doing ok for the first day or so and then by the next day, a school day I was called to come down and take him out of his classroom. I had not choice but to let him hand out in my office while I finished up work, and then the next day I had to go into work to get some things done that were on a deadline, so I had to bring Asher along and set him up with a classroom cott and the portable DVD player in the office and keep the door closed.

We ended up going to the hospital and getting bloodwork done because Asher looked to be totally healthy, clear ears, throat, soft tummy and lungs clear.  The next step was to go have a blood test done and see if it showed up any probable cause for the 103+ temps Asher was getting. The blood test I guess only showed that we were more than likely dealing with a virus, the white count was not elevated to indicate we were dealing with an infection of some sort.

SO Asher's 4th birthday was not a day for celebration, instead it was a day of getting lots of sleep and letting his little body heal and try to get back to health. We did however have a cake, I made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and we put candles on it and let Asher blow them out, but that was about it, Asher didn't even want to eat it.

Thanks for stopping in, sorry it has been so long since my last update, but these 40 hr work weeks are zapping all my energy and my computer time.

Until Next Time..........................................

God Bless,

Bridgett and Asher
