Here we go again! I typed up a nice, long entry yesterday and lost it! Ugh! I was so mad!
So quickly, as I remember……….
The rain! I can’t take it anymore! I have forgotten my son is on a baseball team, I have forgotten what its like to take the kids to the park, the beach, bike riding……..going to the movies, arcades and such can be quite expensive for all of us! I sure hope we see the end of all of this soon! Any amount of money we have is going towards the house (almost there, don’t I say that every entry?! LOL) so we are pretty broke!
Last week my beloved friend came into town. Kirsten and I have been great friends since high school and she packed up and moved away to South Carolina 3 years ago. I miss her so much! She has 3 children close in age to mine, we used to be together all the time and have the best time (as did our children). So, Kirsten and her family were driving to Vermont for her MIL’s 60th birthday bash and she was going to stop for 1 day and 1 night at our mutuals friend (Krista’s) house along the way. Krista has two children (and 1 in her belly) and has a huge, child orientated home. I even kept Charles and Lyssie home from school for the day so we could spend the whole day up there. They are rarely absent and I arranged for their work to be sent home the previous day.
We arrived in the morning as planned and had a wonderful reunion. We were biding our time though, only two hours into our visit, Lyssie reinjured her sprained (albeit healing) ankle, with a bad fall, and as I was trying to get her sitting with ice on it, and calm my two screaming girls ( Sarah gets upset when anyone cries) when Charles started throwing up all over the place. (TMI?) I cleaned up as best as I could and tearfully said a hasty goodbye to my friends. Poor Charles had to lay down in a moving car as sick as he was with a screaming baby who didn’t feel like being strapped in her carseat for another hour. It was a looooooong ride home. I called the dr on the way about Lyssie’s swelling ankle and was instructed to take her to the ER for another Xray. This ankle seems to be healing so slowly and she keeps reinjuring it. It’s really hard to keep her off it.
I managed to locate Chuck to stay with Charles as the girls and I headed to the ER. Sarah was fresh, Lyssie was fine and her ankle was pronounced, yet again, not broken, thank goodness. We picked up a fast food dinner on the way home and called it a day. Later on, I had a little tiff with DH. I was relaying my disappointment over my big day and plans gone estranged, and he exclaimed in disbelief about how shocked he was that I would even mention such a thing when our poor kids were in trouble. Well, geesh, I am just about the epitome of UNselfish, and of course my children have and always will come first over ANYTHING….I was just saying that it DID suck nonetheless.
Charles
The other day I was on the phone with a friend and Charles kept eyeing me and waiting for me to hang up. Once I did, he asked if he could have a word with me. He took me into the bathroom and closed the door. Apparently, I had cursed while on the phone and he asked me “If I could PLEASE not use that language in front of the girls.” Yikes!!!!!!!!!!
Sarah
Sunday morning she awoke and popped off the bed! She immediately started picking up all the clothes of the floor and putting them in the hamper. She then stood back and looked so pleased with herself! She is such a busy girl. She is really attached to dolls lately too. Her babies have to be with her at all times. She pushes them around the house in a stroller, feeds them at mealtimes, gives them medicine, even makes me nurse them. But, always makes the babies nurse with their feet. Don’t understand that one yet.
Alyssa
Sigh. Lyssie got into big trouble last week. She “made” her boyfriend kiss her while playing wedding in the Family living center at school. I guess we watch too much TLC.
Have a great week!
Tricia
