Tricia's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
May 23, 2003
Oh boy, what a week I have had. How ironic my last entry was written about me running the kids to the doctors every five minutes, and my tendancies to overeact. Well, on Monday, Lyssie fell at recess and sprained her ankle. I didn’t even find out about it until that NIGHT, as the school did not notify me of her visit to the nurse (yes, that has SURELY been addressed) and Lyssie mentioned once or twice that her ankle hurt, but I didn’t check it (BAD MOTHER) and she had long pants on. Anyway, to make a long story short and not bore you with too many details, the ped thought it was broken, the radiologist said it was fractured, but when I finally got her to the orthopedic on Wednesday, he diagnosed it as NOT being fractured. What the radiologist was seeing as the fracture was actually the growth plate shadowing something (forgot exactly what). So anyway, it is a bad sprain, but she is doing better and went back to school yesterday.
In addition to that incident, I have just had an all around “down” kind of week. I cried all the way to work this morning at 5am It just finally dawned on me a few minutes ago that I think I may be getting my period again. (I have only had 2 since Sarah was born). I believe I am suffering from some kind of severe PMS. Either that, or I really need some medication. (totally not kidding here) Also, it really bothers me when I get AF, I feel like my body is taunting and mocking me since my tubes are tied and there will be no more pregnancies for me.
So, my big cry this morning was all about me wanting to be a better mother. Last night was HORRIBLE. Charles and Lyssie were unbelievably naughty, add in that I have been cranky and tired, Sarah has been cutting teeth for nearly three weeks now and has also started not sleeping….. all these factors surely didn’t make for a good mix. My older two were fooling around and not listening, running through the house, just misbehaving in every way possible. Soon, I was so angry that I was actually shaking. When this happens, I usually take a time out for myself first before I deal with them. If I happen to open my mouth at that time, I know I will start screaming like a lunatic and that is just disgusting to me, so I refuse to open my mouth until I calm down. Well, lets just say last night when I finally went to bed my throat was actually sore. I completely lost it and this is so not acceptable. I hate myself for acting out like that. What an example of a fine mother huh? I apologized to the kids this morning, and surely hope we all have a great weekend. Poor things.
Our house is still getting there, but slow going. Chuck was not able to work on it at all this week, as he is swamped with work. But, we are making progress! Soon, very soon!!!!!!!!!! We did have Chuck’s friend, who owns a landscaping business, do a big overhaul of our yard. It was our housewarming gift! (Very nice!) What we ending up finding out in the process of our yard work was this this~~ We have a very sneaky rude next door neighbor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is what happened……
The landscaper spent a great deal of his time clearing out a very large pile of brush that was taking up a corner of our yard. (We also ending up paying for it to be taken to the city dump). He was a little dumbfounded as to where it was all coming from. He did notice a bunch of freshly cut twigs though on the top of the enormous pile and happened to glance over into our neighbors yard. Yep, funny, they had a nicely pruned bush made up of the same type of branches. Strange huh? How convenient for them to just toss their trash over our fence for it looks like the last two years. All this time, they have been so nice, talking to Chuck and visiting while he worked on our house, and then later, when no one was there, throwing all their trash in our yard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chuck was on his way to their door to confront them, but then decided he didn’t feel like fighting with our neighbors before we have even moved in yet! Obviously, they won’t be able to get away with it anymore. SNEAKS!!!!!!!
I feel like I am all over the place with this diary and have not even written about all the milestones and cute things Sarah has been up to. I guess I’ll get caught up someday!
