Sue's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
August 15, 2004
Sunday 15th August
Ryan is 32 months old
I have been overcome by the blogging bug and have spent many a late night(and a bit too much time at work) devising, fine-tuning and finally posting my very own blog. Please join me at :

I wanted a spot that was 'just for me', although I will no doubt make reference to Ryan from time to time! I wanted to be able to personalise my little segment of the web and to include photos. The blog will be my on-line journal of anything and everything, not just my role as a mummy to a sweet little boy.
I am going to keep my diary here however - to record and celebrate Ryan's little life, his antics and his development. I would like to be able to print out my diary entries here and maybe, just maybe, Ryan will want to read them one day. I am so grateful that I happened upon the IP site several years back (when it was really pumpin'!); the friends I have made thanks to IP are just amazing.
We are in our last month of winter here in Australia and what a winter it has been. We certainly don't get the freezing temperatures and snow that a lot of you Americans get, but this winter feels like it has gone on forever. Lots of rain, wind, grey days, cold nights and short days. I am SO looking forward to spring and I know Ryan is champing at the bit to get outside more and play in the garden.
I am constantly amazed at the manner and content of my boy's speech. I certainly don't give him enough credit, it seems, as he is showing me that he knows FAR more than I think he does! I really must get the video camera out again to record his little voice - photographs certainly can't capture that part of an activity. Toddlers have such sweet little voices, don't they? When they aren't screeching, of course!
Ryan is also using his imagination and making up little songs and stories. He puts a sock over each hand ("two puppets, mummy!")and puts on a little show - chat, chat, chat, sing, sing, sing. It is hilarious. His day carer told me that Ryan has been telling her a tale about how his daddy works on a boat and goes fishing for sharks! His daddy works for a telecommunications company and has a work van - not even remotely like a boat.... I have no idea where he got the shark reference from; I certainly can't recall him ever seeing sharks on TV. Can't wait to hear what next week's tale will be.
Short but sweet ! I hope you will stop by either my board or my blog when you get a chance.
