Not-Going-Back-to-School Crafts
School Themed Fun for the Toddler Set By Kymberly Pratt
The handprints on these bags are fun because you can see how much your child has grown by the next school year. You also could use foam stamps to do a theme instead of the handprints.
You'll need: Canvas tote bag
Fabric paints
Paintbrush
Aluminum foil
Fabric paints
Paintbrush
Aluminum foil
Here's what you do: Put the aluminum foil inside the bag to prevent the paint from bleeding to the other side. Carefully paint your child's hands and print them onto the front of the bag. You can paint his name on the bottom and even let him paint around the handprints. Allow the bag to dry overnight, then do the other side, if desired.
Treasure Box Have "science time" with your toddler by taking walks and collecting special items such as rocks, flowers, etc. He can keep his collection in this treasure box.
You'll need:
White glue
Foam brushes
Torn pieces of tissue paper
Shoebox with lid
Here's what you do: Help your child brush the glue all over the shoebox. Then, lay a piece of tissue paper on the top of the glue. Gently help your toddler paint on some more glue over the tissue paper. Continue this process until the box and the lid are covered completely. Make sure you do the box and the lid separately so it does not stick together and can be opened.
