Summer Crafts
Fun Activities to Welcome Summer By Kymberly Pratt
Next, turn the pot upside down and set it on the ground. Put plenty of hot glue on the bottom of the pot. Now place the bottom piece of the poton the bottom of the pot. Make sure to glue it down so that the bottom piece will act as a bowl for the bird.
Once it is assembled and painted, pour a couple cups of bird food in the "bowl," and set it outside for the birds to enjoy. Remember that there are several different types of birdseed. Experiment and see what kinds of birds you have living near you.
Tip: You can buy a bird book or search the Internet and identify the birds you seewith your children. Pretty soon your child will know the difference between a cardinal and a dove or a mockingbird and a starling.
You'll need:
Large bowl
2 cups flour
2 packages unsweetened Kool-Aid
1/2 cup salt
3 cups boiling water
3 tablespoons oil
Here's what you do:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, Kool-Aid and salt. Next, add the water and oil. Mix well. Grab some paper and let your kids paint a masterpiece!
Hint: Make different colors and use different paper! You can even spritz a little water on the paper before the paint, and it will add some texture. Or buy some butcher paper that comes on a roll, staple it to the fence and let your kids paint outside. They will be out there for hours!
Hint: Make sure to put them in old clothes!
