In time, these sensations should pass. If they occur, take it easy or just rest. If you choose to continue with the practice, go slowly until the sensation passes.

Be assured that these physical reactions are not uncommon and are a natural way for the body to release stress and tension. Not everyone experiences physical or emotional release in these forms. Observe how your body reacts to the YogaFit practice without making any judgments.

You Can Do It

"If you can breathe, you can do yoga."
– Beth Shaw, president and founder of YogaFit Inc.

Beth Shaw, president and founder of YogaFit® Inc., was born and raised in New York City. Shaw never planned on becoming a beach-dwelling yoga guru. "If somebody had told me that I'd be a yoga instructor, I would have laughed," she says.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Long Island University, Shaw headed west and discovered the Pacific and yoga – and fell in love with both. Shaw began seriously studying yoga and earned certifications in White Lotus Hatha Yoga and Integrative Yoga Therapy.

In 1993, she began teaching yoga and quickly discovered that traditional methods didn't meet the needs of the fitness club clientele. YogaFit was born as Shaw invented a unique blend of yoga, strength training and stretching.

In 1997, just three years after its inception, YogaFit began training instructors nationwide. Today, there are more than 30,000 YogaFit instructors in the United States and thousands more in Europe, Turkey, Australia, China and South America.
