Mom Mentors
Parenting Organizations Nurture Mom and Family

A term frequently used by Mothers & More is "sequencing," which refers to the pattern that women follow in the paid workforce during their active parenting years. While MOMS Club members tend to be full-time stay-at-home parents, Mothers & More serves a population of mothers who are raising their children in mid-career.
"It is an organization that helps women who are challenged by the work and family balance issue," says Nancy Raca, co-leader of the Rochester, NY, Mothers & More Group. "Sequencing gets away from the distinction of stay-at-home mom and working mom. At one time in your life, you will probably be each of these. Life is a sequence of events and where you are right now is not where you will always be."
According to a 1998 group survey, 34 percent of the organization's members work part-time, half of those in home-based businesses. Seventy-one percent of members plan to return to work in the future. Mothers & More stre
