Picture Perfect
Fun Crafts to Show off Baby's Smile
By Kymberly Pratt
How many photos do you have lying around of your toddler's adorable smile? Show off that winning grin and other family pictures by making these fun crafts. The best part? Your toddler can help and create even more picture-perfect moments!
Adult supervision is required with all projects.
You'll need:
Inexpensive frame
Different colors of paint
Old puzzle
White tacky glue
Here's what you help your child do:
Help your child paint the frame, if desired. Set it aside to dry. (Tip: You can find frames at resale shops of many sizes.)
Show your toddler how to help you glue the pieces on the frame. It's an interesting effect to make different layers, so don't worry if your child overlaps the pieces. The important part is to let your toddler get creative and have fun! (Note: Do make sure that the frame will be able to stand up once the bottom pieces are on. If you are hanging the frame, it will not matter.) When done, allow the frame to dry completely, then use to display your child's smiling face or other family portrait.
Variations: You can paint the puzzle pieces if you want a different look. Paint them several different colors, or all one color. Coordinate them to a room or theme. You can also add glitter to the tops of the puzzle pieces immediately after you paint, while it is still wet. If desired, a clear sealer can be sprayed on to protect the frame and also add some shine.
