Fitness the Frugal Way
Working out Without Going Broke By Teri Brown and Laurie L. Dove

Mandel says to concentrate on fitness basics: proper form and execution. "A woman can use her own body for resistance," says Mandel. "Momentum does not really work a muscle. In order to get stronger, more fit and toned, you need to focus on a workout that is slow and controlled."
Mandel even says old exercise equipment can do more harm than good if sitting unused in a garage or basement. "It makes a woman feel like a failure and sets her up for future failure," says Mandel. "These are reminders of a lack of accomplishment, an inspiration that was not implemented! Also, many of the products promise bodies that are impossible to deliver. There is no easy fix. Every woman needs to be the best that she can be, not some unreal, idealized version."
Hook your feet under the edge of the couch for more powerful sit ups, use gallon jugs full of milk for challenging bicep curls and don't forget you can get a great cardio workout with a jump rope.
