Halloween Spooktacular
Party Ideas That Won't Make You Batty! By Lori Bonner
Magic potion foam and bubble
This spell upon it now I cast:
Through my lips it shall safely pass
I won't gag 'til I finish the glass
Fortune Telling
Before the party have your kids help prepare age-appropriate one- or two-word fortunes. These can be written on craft sticks, index cards or slips of paper. Some ideas are: "new toy," "train ride," "exciting adventure," "true love," "hidden treasure." For the sticks or slips of paper, decorate an empty potato chip canister and place them inside. The fortuneteller shakes the can and withdraws three pieces: something that will happen today, something that will happen before the guest's next birthday and something that will happen when they're grown up. For index cards, shuffle the cards and place three cards, face down, in front of the guest. Slowly and dramatically turn over each future prediction. After you've told their future, be sure to ask, "Now, would you like your palm read?" If they say yes, put a red stamp or red sticker on their palm.
