Picture Perfect

Fun Crafts to Show off Baby's Smile

By Kymberly Pratt

Pages:  1  2  3

Here's what you help your child do:
Help your child paint the frame, if desired. Set it aside to dry. (Tip: Larger frames are fun to use for this project. An 8x10-inch frame or larger works well.)

Set the frame the way you will want it to stay permanently – horizontal or vertical. Now arrange your memorable items in a fun way. Depending on their weight and size you can use the tacky glue or the hot glue. Allow it to dry overnight to ensure everything stays where your child places it.

Now, put a special picture in the frame that coordinates with the items. For example:

  • Vacation items – shells, sand, cut-up fun postcards
  • Baby items – rattle, cute sock that you loved, small shoe, diaper pin, small stuffed animal
  • Special outfit – cut out the fun design or a piece of material from it
  • Special projects you did together – paint the house, build a birdhouse, fun day at the park
Building Block Frames

Because small blocks can be a choking hazard, supervision is a must with this and all the projects.

You'll need:
Small, colorful plastic building blocks
Tacky white glue or tape

Here's what you help your child do:
Help your child build a frame out of the building blocks. Make sure to leave a hole big enough for the picture you want to display. (Tip: Lay the picture on the table and build the frame around it.) When it's complete, attach the photo using the white glue or tape. Allow to dry before displaying.

Note: You can also glue the blocks as you build the frame if you want it permanently together and more stable.
