Family Reunions
Thinking Beyond the Summer Season for Your Family Get-together
The purpose of family reunions is to bring people together. It is exciting when relationships are built and strengthened across the miles. The Internet can be a big help, as Jason Norris can attest.
"A few years ago, my wife and I attended a big family reunion in Minnesota for my Dad's side of the family," Norris says. "It had been several years since the last time we were all together and we had not kept in touch due to distance. This time it is so different. Everyone was exchanging e-mail addresses and we have been connecting regularly through a family Web site at MyFamily.com and my Dad has begun to work on our family genealogy. It will be even more fun to get together next time because we know each other better."
A similar experience awaits you and your family and there is still ample time to plan a reunion for fall, winter or spring. And if you do decide to reunite next summer, you will have the whole year to get ready! The most important step you can take is to start planning now!
