Mouse Costume

Pages:  1  2

Sweat suit costumes are great for babies and toddlers because they are comfortable and cute! And what's even better, if you remove the stitching, you can re-use the sweat suit when Halloween is over. Here's how to make these easy costumes:

Supplies:
  • A gray sweat suit with hood (no zippers)
  • Needle and gray thread
  • Swatch of white material
  • 2 squares of gray felt
  • Fabric glue
  • Paper and pencil and scissors
  • Small amount of stuffing
Instructions:

Ears:
Draw two large mouse ears onto the paper. Trace the pattern onto the felt and then cut the ears out. Cut out small centers for the ears out of the white material and glue it to the felt ears. Put aside. Next, cut a long cone shape about 6 inches by 12 inches out of the remaining felt. Put aside.

Attaching the Ears:
Sew the ears into place by folding the bottom of the ear down onto the hood and sewing it so it stands upright. The head is finished!

Belly:
Cut a large oval out of the white material. This will be the mouse tummy. Either stitch it on, or use the fabric glue (be sure to let it dry thoroughly).
