From Ghosts to Goblins
Hauntingly Cute Halloween Crafts
By Kymberly Pratt
Along with candy and trick-or-treating, Halloween brings with it adorable crafts that are fun for the whole family. And it doesn't matter how old your child is. We have crafts to make for Baby, with your toddler and ones your child can make all by himself!
Handprint Spiders
Baby will love watching, and volunteering his hand, for this fun craft project.
You'll need:
Black paint
Yarn
Scissors
Wiggle eyes
White glue
White construction paper
Here's what you do while Baby watches:
1. Paint Baby's hand with the black paint and make a handprint on the white construction paper. Make sure to make several in order to decorate your home or table. Also, be careful to use nontoxic paint.
2. After the paint dries, cut out each of the handprints and punch a hole in the palm portion of the handprint so that the fingers are the legs of the "spider."
3. Attach a piece of yarn long enough to hang from your desired location and attach two wiggle eyes to each handprint with the white glue.
Variations: Laminate each handprint before you attach the yarn and wiggle eyes. After they are laminated, add the eyes to the palm area and a magnet to the back, and give one to family and friends to hang on their refrigerator or at work. Or print your child's spider hands onto a large piece of paper and laminate it without cutting out the spider forms and use them for placemats.
